Cost of Living

The cost of living in Chile will largely depend on your lifestyle.
Some people are frugal and can squeeze gas from a rock while others just
don't see the need for rock squeezing when you can just go out and buy
gas. The point here is you can spend as much or as little as you want.
Regardless, many items in Chile will be well below what you can expect
to pay in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Among these costs, real estate
and rent are probably the most noticeable. In fact many people don't
realize just how inexpensive rent and real estate can be. On the other
hand you'll be paying more for imported items. These items such as
printer cartridges and other things you may never think about until a
need arises can often be a surprise when you go to purchase and realize
the vast difference in price. With the abundance of fresh fruits and
vegetables, food is always inexpensive if you shop properly. Even eating
out will reflect these low costs. Most people who have relocated to
Chile agree the cost of living can be well below what many are used to
in the U.S. and Europe.
