Luckily both and more are available in the Dominican Republic. The most popular destinations can be the costliest. Beach front properties will command more while inland properties will be less. New homes can be more than older less modern homes. Homes in larger cities are likely to be more than homes in smaller towns. Most of theses types of real estate can be found in the more populated areas in the Dominican Republic, but look for many developments situated near large cities and popular tourist destinations. These complexes and developments will include state of the art amenities such as wiring for cable television and computer networks. Often the grounds of the development will have lush landscaping and a regular maintance schedule to keep the grounds beautiful year round. Golf courses are included in many developments as well as pools and club houses; everything a modern American or other foreigner requires for a comfortable life. For those looking for a simpler, quieter small town existence. Outlying towns within a short commute from the larger tourist cities are a good place to look. Living in a small town will provide a very resonable property price as well as other less costly goods including locally grown food and inexpensive restaurants. When in need of some excitement the big city is not far away.
