Investment Opportunities

image_chapter

Investment opportunities in Mexico are not limited to purchasing a home or a condo but can include rental properties and land, business properties and development properties. Depending on the type of investment you are interested in Mexico probably has what you are looking for.

One very popular investment in Mexico real estate is vacation rentals. Since foreigners can own coastal properties the rental investment market is lucrative for foreigners purchasing rental properties in these areas. During the purchase process ensure the restricted zone property you are purchasing as a rental has government and bank permission. This can be addressed during the purchase process and is a requirement for legal rentals in the restricted zone. If this in not addressed during the purchase process your attorney will have to go back and have the 'Fideicomiso' revised to show permission has been granted.

Rents in these popular tourist areas can provide a substantial income and one that is usually ongoing providing income year round. These investment opportunities can include beachfront homes and cottages and condominiums in any of the numerous new high rise developments sprouting up along most of Mexico’s shorelines. Condominiums are extremely popular for this type of investment because of the modern amenities included in most of these developments. These complexes are usually very well situated to all the conveniences of the area and most offer beach access, pools and lush landscaping; everything a tourist is looking for in travel accommodations.

Furnished accommodations for traveling business people are also good investment opportunities. These often include condominiums in new developments. These furnished rentals provide a valuable service for business people who will be in the city for an extended period. Often hotels become a hassle and are very expensive as opposed to renting a condominium for several months. These travelers are often associated with multi-national companies and the company usually pays for these accommodations. Often these companies will refer their employees to the same furnished rentals providing a somewhat stable, lucrative and often ongoing source of income.

Often foreigners staying in the country for an extended period will look for a rental as well. These people may be considering Mexico as a retirement opportunity but are not ready to make the property ownership commitment yet. These people may seek a rental away from the hustle and bustle of the high tourist areas and look for a small and affordable home while they are pondering the big move. This is the case in many instances and purchasing a rental property in some of the smaller but well located towns near some of the high traffic tourists can turn out to be a wonderful investment.

Relocating to Mexico has become popular as the countries economy has stabilized and many people have discovered the relatively low cost of living, the wonderfully mild climate and the modern amenities most Mexican cities can offer. Visiting Mexico is easy and owning property in Mexico is economical. Relocating to this country has become a viable alternative for many foreigners wishing for a more relaxed lifestyle with a better standard of living than their country can offer.
