The cost of live in Mexico will vary depending on the population and popularity of the area. Towns and cities close to the border or the coast are more expensive to live in than other comparable towns more off the beaten path. Large cities are more expensive than some of the smaller towns. Utilities are generally more expensive while food, including fruits and meats are generally less expensive. Internet availability has made international calling less expensive. Work in Mexico revolves around the larger cities; mostly Mexico City. Many visitors stay in the city for years for a job with one of the many foreign companies that now call Mexico home. People relocating to Mexico will need the proper documentation in order to be allowed this privilege. Most documentation is easily obtained and may be periodically updated depending on your circumstances. For large companies most will take care of the proper paperwork for you but if you plan on setting up your own business, which many people do, then arranging the proper documentation and financial responsibilities are easily researched and once the proper paperwork is filed and approved you will be able to set up your business.

The tourism trade in Mexico is very prolific with hundreds of thousands of people visiting every year. Aztec ruins, scuba diving, cultural museums, opera and ballet are only a few of the attractions that await you in Mexico. Vacationing or relocating to Mexico is becoming big business in Mexico and the country recognizes its new found popularity.
