Types of Properties

Many properties in Panama are available from Condominiums in new developments scattered along Panama’s shores to homes in new developments in many of the same popular locations. These complexes and developments offer state of the art conveniences include wiring for computers and cable or satellite television. Internet service is readily available and all the modern amenities Americans have become accustomed to are often incorporated into these new and modern developments. Many of the home developments will include landscaping and maintenance of common areas, and pools and golf courses are not uncommon.

Older homes are available and often at better prices. Some are secluded while others may be in town. These homes will have the basic amenities including utilities but may lack more modern features although internet and satellite are easily incorporated.

In the outlying areas and smaller towns, ranches and farms are available as well as land. These properties may be perfect for someone who wishes to be away from the crowd, hustle and bustle of the cities. Many times people who purchase these properties grow their own fruits and vegetables and may have some animals as well.

By far though, beach front properties and island properties are the most sought after and the highest in price. These properties can range from brand new to much older. The older homes are often labeled as beach cottages. Giving these older properties charm does not change the fact that they may need updating. Island properties can be in town or on the beach as well and when a person purchases this type of property, they should be prepared for a commute between the main land and the island; usually by boat or ferry. Some islands do have air strips and this can change a long ferry ride into a short plane ride.
